David Boniello, Vice President of Simplex Industries, has just been named Chairman of the Board of Johnson College of Scranton.  Johnson College is a 104 year old institution that focuses on providing students a technical education in a variety of fields of study, including the building trades.  Boniello is a Johnson College alumni and he has over 30 years of experience in the modular industry.  He now holds the distinction of being the first alumni of Johnson College to become Chairman of the Board.

According to Johnson College President Dr. Ann Pipinski, “David Boniello has been an outstanding Board member and was a natural choice to lead our very active Board.  His industry experience, enthusiasm for the College and natural leadership skills will well serve our College community.”

Dave Boniello currently serves as Vice President of Simplex Industries.  In that capacity he oversees a number of corporate areas including supervising the Multi-Family division and Cornerstone Building Solutions, an affiliate company that serves as the local building arm for Simplex.  Over the course of his Simplex career Dave has supervised the sales and construction of a number of highly complex, large scale building projects.  He has had major roles in projects such the construction of the luxury Cottages at The Hershey Hotel, Marywood University Townhome Dormitories,  LEED Certified Bancroft Green and 31 Brewery Town, both luxury condominiums in Philadelphia and much more.

“I am excited about taking on this new role at Johnson College,” said David Boniello.  “The College has experienced unprecedented growth in preparing students for tomorrow’s careers where a technical education is vital.  My goal as Chairman will be to continue that growth and momentum.”

Boniello went on to say, “ To go from a Johnson student to Chairman of their Board is humbling.  I would not have this positon if it were not for the support of Pat Fricchione of Simplex and my Simplex colleagues.  Simplex has been very supportive and for that I am grateful.”  In addition to his volunteer service at Johnson College, Dave Boniello also serves in a leadership role with the Lackawanna County (PA) Builder’s Association.

Simplex is recognized as national leader in the field of high quality modular building.  The company celebrated the 45th anniversary of its founding on April 24th with an Open House for customers and employees.  Simplex employs over 250 people at their Scranton, PA complex.
